EZ Voice App: How To Use

Step 1: Download and install the free app “EZ Voice” from the Google Play store.

Step 2: Download your chosen song file straight to your phone (.mp3) from the Digital Pigeon link provided after you have completed all the requirements for entering the competition. You’ll find all the files in your ‘Downloads’ folder. You can alternatively use the link to download to your computer if you prefer.

Step 3: Open “EZ Voice” on your Android phone and skip the opening screen.

Step 4: Tap the “ + ” icon at the top left, find and select the song you wish to sing.

Step 5: Tap the red circular button to begin recording after a 4 second count in. If you wish to adjust the volume of the imported audio track, use the bottom slider located to the right of the red, circular record button. You can preview using the play button.

Step 6: If you wish to delete a take, “discard” the recording and tap the “ + “ icon from Step 4 the track will already be in the list. Tap the track and record another take.

Step 7: When you have completed recording, you can tap the “Save” button to add it to your song list. Save it as the Song Title and Your Name (i.e., 16 Bars_Adele Dazeem)

Finally, to import the file from your Android phone to your PC computer:

Step 8: Connect your Android phone to your PC computer via USB.

Step 9: In a ‘file explorer‘ window on your computer, navigate to the music folder on your phone.

Go to Phone, then scroll through and find the Music folder. Inside the Music folder you’ll find the song you’ve recorded.

Step 10: Click and drag a copy of the song onto your desktop.

Congratulations! You’re now ready to upload your completed vocal demo recording to Digital Pigeon.  This completes the entry process to the 16 STORIES competition.


iOS (Apple) iPhone users

Step 1: Download your chosen song file straight to your phone (.mp3) from the Digital Pigeon link provided after you have completed all the requirements for entering the competition. You can alternatively use the link to download to your Mac or iPad if you prefer.

Step 2: Download and install the free app “EZ Voice” from the App Store.

Step 3: Connect your iPhone to your computer via USB connection. Take all necessary steps via prompts in iTunes to make sure your device is visible as seen below marked in red.

Step 4: Open “EZ Voice” on your iPhone and skip the opening screen

Step 5: Tap the “ + ” icon at the to left. Select “iTunes File Sharing” and follow the instructions listed.

Step 6: On your iPhone, Close the File Sharing instructions and tap on the audio file now in your “EZ Voice” library. You can now disconnect your device from your computer. We recommend using headphones during recording.

Step 7: Tap the red circular button to begin recording after a 4 second count in. If you wish to adjust the volume of the imported audio track, use the bottom slider located to the right of the red, circular record button. You can preview using the play button.

Step 8: If you wish to delete a take, “discard” the recording and tap the “ + “ icon from Step 5 and close the iTunes File sharing popup, the track will already be in the list. Tap the track and record another take.

Step 9: When you have completed recording, you can tap the “Save” button to add to your song list. Save it as the Song Title and Your Name (i.e., When I Slay My Rival_Adele Dazeem)

Finally, to import the file from your Android phone to your PC computer:

Step 10: Connect your iPhone to your computer via USB.

Step 11: In the “EZ Voice” app, tap on the green “SONG” button.

Step 12: Tap on the recorded file you saved. Tap on the “Share” button.Apple_11

Step 14: On your computer, use iTunes to navigate to your iPhone’s File Sharing page.

Step 15: Select “EZ Voice” from the apps column then select the recorded file from the list to the right.

Step 16: Save using the “Save…” button to your computer.

Congratulations! You’re now ready to upload your completed vocal demo recording to Digital Pigeon. This completes the entry process to the 16 STORIES competition.
